Adoption is expensive. Everyone’s first question is ‘why?’. Paperwork fees, fees to have a home study created, local, state, Federal and international fees, travel fees — it adds up. And in this case, it adds up to about $30k (complete fee breakdown here). As we prepare our hearts, our home and our finances, your contribution — whether small or big — also adds up.

Story

In 2004 we visited China for the first time. We saw the people, the cities and the children. It left an indelible imprint on our minds and hearts. We haven’t forgotten. Eleven years later we’ve felt the call and heard our hearts that its time to return. And this time we’ll return with more than pictures and memories. Isaac is waiting for us and our hearts are waiting for him.

End

Fingerprints. Legal documents. Approvals. Notarized, Certified, Authenticated. They call it paperwork pregnant for a reason. We’ll be doing much this next year as we navigate the leagues of paperwork and procedures necessary to be approved for adoption. Then it will happen — we’ll be matched and introduced to Isaac for the first time through a picture. And ultimately we’ll travel to China to meet him in-person and bring him home (yes!).

Follow along as we journey together this next year to bring Isaac home.
